THE ECONOMY SUCKS.  LET’S ALL SPEND MONEY ON TEEN MOVIES AND BEERS.
Times are crappy.  I know you need some levity.  Hell, I do too, and I’d rather do something more social and fun than sitting at home watching DVDs of old Freddie Prinze Jr. movies and watching Charles give David a pedicure.
Therefore, I propose a Tumblr excursion this Friday night to go drink beers, eat buffalo wings and mozzarella sticks, see Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist sometime around 10 or 10:30 PM, and then stay out all bloody night drinking more beers and eating more buffalo wings and mozzarella sticks.
After seeing the trailer I thought this movie would blow hardcore, but the early buzz I’ve heard is that it’s actually pretty good, it’s filmed in legit New York locations rather than LA pretending to be New York, and Michael Cera isn’t nearly as annoying as he could be.
We can go to either a theater in Battery Park or on the UES, since it looks like this is a pretty limited release.  Both are pretty crappy locations for pre- and post-gaming, but we can figure something out.
Reblog if you’re interested.

Believe the bad hype. This movie is a sin against filmmaking. Good reviews are simply rewarding the idea of what Nick and Norah is aspiring to be for our generation, and buying into that false praise makes everyone struggle to play catch up, just to find ourselves increasingly alienated. Why don’t I like this movie? It’s Harry and Sally for my generation! Except it’s…not. And there’s a sense of disillusionment that comes from having things fed to us that are not a shred of what they are pretending to be.
But, enjoy your meetup! Sorry for the earnestness.
